About this car
The Scirocco was VW’s sporty coupé, styled by Giugiaro and launched six months before the Golf. The GTi version shared its 1.6L fuel-injected engine with the Golf GTi but in a lighter, lower body – making it the sharper drive.
Built by Karmann in Osnabrück, just over 500,000 Mk1s were made before the second generation arrived in 1981.

Works as a current car for anything set in the late 70s or very early 80s. The young man’s car – flashier than a Golf but cheaper than a Porsche.
Suits student towns, suburban driveways, nightclub car parks, or anywhere someone’s trying to project a ‘man about town’ image.
